Airflo Tactical Steelhead Line

Take the tight loop and casting ease of a Scandi compact head and couple it to the versatility of a multi-tip line and you have the basis for the Airflo Tactical Steelhead shooting head. To help cut through the wind and to make casting modest sink tips and larger flies easier, the Tactical Steelhead has a larger tip diameter than the Scandi compact. With a smooth front taper and removable floating tip the newest two-hand line from Airflo line will convert from a floating line to sink tip better than any existing line. If a person needs a more aggressive sink tip line then this new line they should switch to the Skagit compact head. This new head will change the way many people fish. The mint green colored heads come in a #5 weighing 390 grains all the way to a #9 weighing 460. Unique to the Tactical head is the 8 foot removable ridged tip. The ridged tip helps anchor the cast. Airflo’s indestructible heavy duty loops connect the tip to the head and the head to the running line. All sizes are made on a low stretch 30lb core. Remove the floating tip and connect your favorite sink tip and get down.

There's always someone who wants to cast even further – for those guys we developed Forty Plus Expert – its like the Forty Plus…just longer! By increasing the head length, whilst maintaining the same head weight the whole cast is smoother, allowing expert casters to carry more line in the loop and with a little effort, send a fly to the next county. The use of Power Core, helps reduce energy loss and smoothes out wobbles that ultra high line speed can put into regular 'stretchy' lines. Ridge running lines reduce tangles and improve shootability. Based on the same technology as the incredible Sixth Sense flylines, Airflo have created a small range of flylines that sink in a U shape profile. With the recent popularity of the 'washing line' technique, we realised that creating a U shape retrieve path actually allows the fly to fish through a range of depths effectively, during a single cast. The Airflo Sweep Fly Lines follow this U sink path by increasing the sink speed of the belly section of the flyline to be faster than the tip and running line. The use of power core, reduces tangles significantly and helps sets the hooks despite the belly in the line, something that was always a problem with the old Hi-D type lines. Airflo Sweep Fly Lines are not the line for early season when fish are hugging the bottom, but as a searching line when the fish are moving up and down throughout the water column, it is an extremely effective line. When boat fishing, the Airflo Sweep Fly Line creates a far sharper angle on the final lift and this almost vertical action is extremely deadly for strip and hang techniques. Available in Di5 and and Di7 belly sink rates, the tip of the Di5 sinks at 3.5" per sec and the Belly sinks at 5" per sec, on the Di7 version the tip sinks at 5" per sec and the belly sinks at 7" per second. All lines are 35yds long, you'll need it!! Available in AFTM 7, 8, 9 Di5: 7XS-SW-WF(size)S5-PG Di7: 7XS-SW-WF(size)S7-BK Iain Barr says: "“Without doubt the low stretch core on these lines puts me more fish on the bank…!!!"

Airflo Forty Plus Sniper Line

Airflo Forty Plus Sniper Line
£39.99

To help people catch more fish Airflo has developed a new aggressive short head Striper line. The Sniper line is based on a shorter version of our 40+ line with its easy casting condensed head and thick tip diameter. The Sniper has a Dual HeaFFDd Design which allows the line to perform as well for lesser casters as it does for advanced casters. Lesser casters can cast the line with only the front 15 feet of line out the rod tip while the expert will aerialize the entire head to achieve maximum distance. They come in floating, intermediate sink, type 3, and type 7 sink. Included in the Sniper family is a new “Custom Cut” line, made with a level 35 foot head of 14 grain per foot sink tip material blending into an intermediate running line. Floating and intermediate lines are looped both front and back, the Sink 3, 7 and CC are looped in the back only.
